With the Autonomous Systems National Laboratory (ARNL) as a professional Sponsor, the 4th REFORMula Challenge Innovation Competition for Students – organized by the Mission for Engineers Foundation – will take place on 16 April 2024 within the framework of the professional day of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). In the competition, teams of high school and university students will match their knowledge, skills and design abilities in topics related to autonomous systems as well as their religious knowledge.
The teams prepare for the competition in advance with two pre-selected tasks, which will be presented at the Grand Prix by the teams invited to the final. The tasks are different each year and currently relate to programming and ethical issues of self-driving vehicles as well as mobile application design. In solving the tasks, not only the technical skills but also the teams' religious knowledge play a role.
Under the new higher education admission system, a ranking achieved at the REFORMula Challenge is worth points when applying to any major at BME. The teams will be awarded additional prizes. Furthermore, the selected teams submitting works deemed the best by the professional sponsors will have the opportunity to test their solutions in a real vehicle environment in the summer of 2024.
