József Váncza, lead researcher at the Autonomous Systems National Laboratory (ARNL), head of the Research Laboratory on Engineering and Management Intelligence (EMI) at HUN-REN SZTAKI, gave a presentation on the industrial application of digital twin technology to an at capacity audience at the gala conference on the twenty-five-year Hungarian success story of additive manufacturing (or 3D printing) on 21 September 2023 in Budapest.
József Váncza's research areas, which are also important research topics of ARNL, are engineering applications of artificial intelligence, production informatics, cyber-physical manufacturing systems, human-robot cooperation, cooperative and sustainable production in networks. The lead researcher is a board member of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP).
The presentation was followed by a round table discussion, during which József Váncza highlighted the challenges of the circular economy. At the exhibition booth of HUN-REN SZTAKI, Géza Haidegger, senior research fellow at EMI, presented the potential of artificial intelligence in some application areas of additive technology.
