On 11 March 2024, the Hungarian Ambassador to Vienna got acquainted with the international activities of Széchenyi István University, the Innovation Park in Zalaegerszeg and the ZalaZone test track, which is part of the Széchenyi University Group. The diplomat believes that the research and development activities there, which are also closely related to ARNL, represent new opportunities for Hungarian-Austrian relations.

ARNL researchers held an outdoor technical demo at the ZalaZone Automotive Test Track for the delegation of HM EI Zrt. on 27 March 2024.

Balázs Németh, Lead Researcher of ARNL, successfully defended his scientific work and theses submitted for the degree of DSc on 26 April 2024 in the large council room of the HUN-REN SZTAKI.

On 12 March 2024, students of Óbuda University got acquainted with the research conducted at ARNL in the Innovation and Demonstration Space (IDT).

The scientific cooperation project ‒ within the framework of the grant 2019-2.1.11-TÉT-2020-00125 ‒ concluded with open presentations given by researcher from the Sveučilište u Zagrebu (University of Zagreb) and HUN-REN SZTAKI. The programme included three lectures (in English): two lectures by the Croatian project partner, and one by the Hungarian project partner.

Dr. Roland Tóth, ARNL's lead researcher, gave a lecture at the Faculty of Technology of the University of Debrecen (DE). His presentation "Learning-assisted navigation and motion control for autonomous quadcopters" was attended by a full house.

Bálint Vanek, lead researcher at the National Laboratory for Autonomous Systems (ARNL) and Deputy Director of HUN-REN SZTAKI, gave a presentation at the Control Seminar organised by the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department of the University of Michigan on the active testing of technologies to mitigate the flutter phenomenon. He also held discussions with several researchers from the University of Michigan.

On 25 and 26 January 2024, the 12th International Conference on Mechatronics and Control Engineering (ICMCE) was held at HUN-REN SZTAKI. ARNL was actively involved in the organisation of the conference.

System identification of DJI M600 multicopter was carried out by ARNL researchers. The drone itself was provided by the ‘Developing innovative automotive testing and analysis competencies in the West Hungary region based on the infrastructure of the Zalaegerszeg Automotive Test Track, GINOP-2.3.4-15-2020-00009’ project.
