ARNL held a successful Innovation Day

​​​​​​​On September 19, 2023, the Autonomous Systems National Laboratory (ARNL), which is coordinated by HUN-REN SZTAKI, held a successful Innovation Day. In addition to HUN-REN SZTAKI researchers, researchers from the other two consortium partners, i.e., Széchenyi University and Budapest University of Technology and Economics, presented their results and solutions at the professional day. The event was attended also by the representatives of industry.

Poster of ARNL Researchers Awarded at International Conference

The Eurosensors International Conference was held for the 35th time this year in Lecce, Italy, and will take place in Debrecen next year. A poster prepared in collaboration by HUN-REN Institute for Computer Science and Control (HUN-REN SZTAKI), HUN-REN Centre for Energy Research – Institute of Technical Physics and Materials Science (MFA) and ELTE Faculty of Informatics (ELTE IK) was chosen as one of the best of the conference. The award-winning research results are related to vehicle control applications of force sensors built into car tyres and the development of intelligent wheels.

First autonomous flights of SZTAKI DJI M300 drone

Following the maiden flight of SZTAKI DJI M300 drone last year the first autonomous flights with custom autopilot were executed on 1st August 2023. Utilizing the DJI OSDK functions the same autopilot functionalities were applied as on the DJI M600 drone after minimal adaptation of the program codes.

SZEnergy: The student racing team of Széchenyi István University is among the best ones in the world again

Following the success of the previous year, the SZEnergy student team of Széchenyi István University (SZE) has made another major international achievement: they reached the second place in the 2023 Shell Eco-marathon Autonomous Programming Competition. The competition was held online, so entries were accepted from student teams from all over the world. Among these the team of SZE performed outstandingly well again.

Secondary school students programmed small autonomous vehicles at ZalaZONE in the frame of a competition organised by Széchenyi István University

About 50 teams from all over the country participated in the SZE's online autonomous robot programming competition, with three students and one teacher per team. The aim of the programme was to introduce young people to the latest automotive technologies – including control technology, measurements with sensors and robot programming - at secondary school level.
