Ákos Zarándy, DSc

Head of SZTAKI’s Research Laboratory of Computer Optical Sensing and Processing, scientific consultant, researcher.

Professor at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics.

His research interests include computer vision and image sensing based on neural networks with special sensors and optics. He has led a number of successful research and development projects, including the development of a medical optical measuring instrument, the research of locally adaptive image sensors, and the solution of exceptionally high-speed visual problems. He is currently working in the field of non-contact, camera-based physiological signal measurements.

Since 2010, he has been a Doctor of Engineering and Chairman of the Computer Science and Automation Committee.
