Alexandros Soumelidis, PhD

Senior researcher at the SZTAKI Systems and Control Laboratory, and the head of the Measurement and Control Technologies Group.

Professor in the Department of Transport and Vehicle Management of the Faculty of Transport and Vehicle Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

He holds a degree in electrical engineering, a specialist in instrumentation and measurement technology, and graduated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology. He defended his doctoral (PhD) degree in 2002 at the Faculty of Transport Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In 2013, he habilitated at the Faculty of Technical Sciences of Széchenyi István University.

His activities cover three universities, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Szent István University, Széchenyi István University, where it holds the title of associate professor and research professor. In terms of areas of application, his interests include industrial, energy systems, road and aircraft, but his work has also strayed into areas such as medical electronics.

Member of the public body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Scientific Committee on Automation and Computer Science.
