He obtained his first degree as a program designer mathematician at ELTE in 2001, and then obtained a degree in philosophy at ELTE in 2006. During his studies, he attended 3-5 months of part-time training at the Technical University of Eindhoven (Netherlands, 2001), British Telecom (Great Britain, 2002), and Johannes Kepler University (Austria, 2003). Since 2004 he has been an employee of the Engineering and Business Intelligence Research Laboratory of SZTAKI. He defended his Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Informatics of Eötvös Loránd University in 2008.
After his doctorate, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and from 2009 he worked at the University of Melbourne (Australia) as a “Research Fellow” from which he returned home in 2013. Csanád Csáji’s results were awarded several prizes, such as the “Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA)” of the Australian Research Council (ARC) (in the applied mathematics category) and the Béla Gyires Prize of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
