Improving street lighting energy efficiency using a network of IoT sensors

Technological progress is advancing at an unstoppable pace: today’s devices are significantly more versatile, smarter, faster, and energy-efficient than their predecessors due to ongoing development. Progress, however, signifies not only in terms of hardware, but also entails substantial advancements in technology and innovation. These evolving branches result in revolutionary solutions in various application areas, capable of drastically improving upon the preceding system.
The contrast between traditional, straightforward operation of current public lighting and smart lighting systems serves as a prime example. Over the years, prevalent solutions have demonstrated that it is possible to achieve a more sustainable and easily modifiable public lighting with significantly lower energy consumption and reduced costs. The development of public lighting, however, brings additional advantages to users that were inconceivable with traditional systems.
