Development of experimental road vehicles with an emphasis on the component and the functional design, and with particular interest in the theoretical and design aspects of control related to the various levels of autonomy, geographical localization, road environment detection, safe and secure communication, cooperation among road vehicles and among vehicles of different kind, to robustness, real-time capability and demonstrability.

Planning, execution and evaluation of UAV-based solutions to various high-level aerial missions that need to be carried out in an autonomous fashion and need to ensure safe aerial manoeuvres, and thereby presume a harmonized operation of onboard sensors, multi-camera vision system, communication devices, and actuators.

Development and demonstration of cyber-physical manufacturing and logistics systems (CPPS), both flexible and dedicated, that comprise autonomous components; with special emphasis on autonomous robotics, human-robot symbiosis, cooperation, and teamwork, and by making use of the 'digital twins' of the CPPS components.
