ARNL researchers held an outdoor technical demo at the ZalaZone Automotive Test Track for the delegation of HM EI Zrt. on 27 March 2024.
The technical demo was one of the highlights of a conference on defence and dual-use technologies. First, researchers from the HUN-REN SZTAKI, the Széchényi University and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics presented their state-of-the-art solutions for remote monitoring of ground vehicles’ hybrid powertrains and for the remote control of such vehicles from long distances. They then demonstrated their competences and technical achievements in the field of highly automated road vehicles. Among other functions, static obstacle avoidance and valet parking fuctions were presented.
In case of the latter automotive function, the vehicle automatically parked itself after the driver had got out of the car and then returned autonomously to the driver based on location data provided via a mobile app. During the demo of this function, visitors could also follow the movements of this helpful vehicle on a digital twin model of the track.
A demonstration of an autonomous area protection drone was also concluded as part of the open-air technical program.
