In the framework of the H2020 FLiPASED project, a group of SZTAKI researchers - led by Bálint Vanek - participated in a working visit to Munich. This visit contributed to the fact that the project is getting closer to the point where the researchers/developers involved in the project can dampen the flutter of flexible airplane wings via active control. ARNL researchers are also involved in the project.
On the first day of the working visit to the Technical University of Munich (TUM), SZTAKI researchers/developers worked on the avionics of the demonstrator aircraft. In parallel, engineers from SZTAKI, TUM and DLR (German Aerospace Center) developed and tested tools for the evaluation of flight test data.
On the second day of the visit, the joint work continued at DLR, where the researchers participating in the project worked on conceptual methods to be used in aircraft design. These methods incorporate also the control system functions into the multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) process.
