Like many international and domestic companies, the organisations within the University presented themselves to the visitors of the Innovation Exhibition and Invention Fair. Also the VIRC welcomed those interested in the field. The main mission of the VIRC is to work towards sustainable transport. In this context, they carry out research and development (R&D) of electrically powered and autonomous vehicle systems.
In addition to these R&D activities, visitors were able to see various robots at the centre's stand. Their exhibition focused on applications on mobile robotics and on robots in education and industry. From the former application area, the Husarion ROSBot 2.0 Pro and the Segway Loomo were presented, while the Fanuc educational robot cell was displayed in conjunction with the latter.
The main research directions of the centre cover areas such as electromobility, on-board and transport infrastructure-integrated autonomous vehicle control systems, telecommunications, machine learning, environment perception, vehicle simulation, intelligent transport systems and advanced materials research.
It should be noted that also various student teams of the university had their own exhibition stands at the event, where visitors had the opportunity to see land vehicles designed and built by the SZEnergy Team, by the Arrabona Racing Team and by the SZEngine, respectively, air vehicles designed and built by the SZEviation and by the SZESAT teams, respectively, and water vehicles developed by the SZEnavis team.
