The Hungarian Drone Coalition was established in May with the initiative of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the Széchenyi István University, the Institute of Transport Sciences, the Digital Welfare Program and HungaroControl Zrt. Additional partners have joined the initiative in the recent months, bringing the professional organization to nearly 100 members. Dr. Dániel Rohács, associate professor and head of department at BME, and lead researcher of the Autonomous Aerial Vehicles research field of the National Laboratory of Autonomous Systems, was elected chairman of the coalition.
“The coalition is a cooperation platform and forum that brings together domestic industry and other stakeholders, where the founders and members work together to develop, among other things, a supportive and secure legal framework. The organization contributes to the creation of the Hungarian drone strategy, aims to support companies interested in the application and production of unmanned aerial vehicles and related technologies, as well as increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, making Hungary one of the leading participants in the drone industry.” – said president Dániel Rohács, who thinks that the forecasts for the increase in the number of drone flights in Hungary also justified the establishment of a purposeful professional coalition forum operating within an organized framework.
"It is in our national economic interest to be open to research and development and technological innovations, and to use the pioneering advances to engage in the earliest possible stages of development, playing a key role in the industry through the knowledge of our professionals." – Dániel Rohács emphasized the importance of encouraging innovation.
